I am excited to introduce myself, my mission, and the 2021 Pink Bow Campaign. The Pink Bow Campaign was started in 2007 by an amazing group of women in a local Charlotte neighborhood. Since its inception, the campaign (through BCC Rally and Komen Charlotte) has raised over $750,000. These bows hold a very special place in my heart as my mom is a 21 year breast cancer survivor.

Being a Charlotte resident, I noticed these beautiful pink bows around the Ballantyne area. I would order bows for my own mailbox and then send them to my mom in Virginia Beach. Over the years, I got more and more and more involved in the campaign (thanks to a very special lady – Carol Aaron). Anyone who knows Carol, knows that when she waves you over, you are about to get VERY involved! I started running my own pink bow campaign in my neighborhood and place of business. Then Carol started waving me over again and I joined the board of the directors for BCC Rally, eventually becoming the board President. After much deliberation, BCC Rally dissolved in 2019 and Komen Charlotte took over the Pink Bows and I went with them.

I worked with Komen Charlotte for 2 years and managed the Pink Bow Campaign. We raised over $86,000 in 2019 and $55,000 in 2020. We were thrilled to be able to make an impact during a pandemic. What a crazy year 2020 was! During my time at Komen Charlotte, I also stepped in the Interim Director of Marketing role (which I loved). Earlier this year, my position was eliminated and my family made the decision to keep the pink bows going and start our own non profit. My husband Chuck and I and our two sons have created ThePinkBowCampaign.org with a mission to raise funds and awareness in the fight against breast cancer. This cause and these bows are still a passion for me and for our communities.

I hope you will join me in the new adventures of the Pink Bow Campaign! Let’s continue to make an IMPACT one pink bow at a time!
