Hi! My name is Maggie and I am thriving despite having cancer three times. After completing treatment for stage 0 breast cancer I was told that I did not have to worry about reoccurrence; I was diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer (MBC) four years later. I have since learned this happens to 30% of people diagnosed with early stage. And some people are diagnosed stage 4 de novo, meaning this is their first cancer occurrence.

I joined the Pink Bow Campaign to help raise awareness and hope about advanced stage breast cancer. Stage 4 cannot be cured, but people are thriving longer thanks to advancements in treatment. However, education remains crucial as many people are initially misdiagnosed due to a general lack of knowledge of advanced stage breast cancer. I can relate, I knew nothing about MBC before being diagnosed. Stage 4 breast cancer most often travels to the bones, lungs, liver and brain. A rule of thumb I’ve heard is that consistent pain lasting more than two weeks in any of these areas should be ruled out for breast cancer.

Please join us in thanking Maggie for all of her continued efforts with The Pink Bow Campaign, Inc. and the fight against breast cancer!

Thank you Maggie!

I have been involved with Pink Bows for years, but it became very personal when I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017. Educating the community with The Pink Bow Campaign is something I cherish. Knowing that most breast cancer patients like me have no family history makes it even more important for early detection. Filling our neighborhoods and businesses with pink bows is a way we can honor everyone that have been affected and create a wonderful reminder to schedule our screenings. In addition, The Pink Bow Campaign helps to fill a void with those in need, and I could not be prouder to be a part of this organization.

Please join us in thanking Beverly for all of her continued efforts with The Pink Bow Campaign, Inc. and the fight against breast cancer!

The Pink Bow Campaign has a special place in my heart. I became involved almost 7 years ago after my mom passed away from metastatic breast cancer. I love seeing the pink bows in neighborhoods during the month of October. It is a way I can honor my mom, remind others how important it is to get your yearly mammogram and raise money to help those in need with breast cancer. As a board member of the Pink Bow Campaign, I can help make a difference.

Please join us in thanking Carolyn for all of her continued efforts with The Pink Bow Campaign and the fight against breast cancer.
